    Passing Variables to Next Page

    I have noticed many sites pass variables using the ? character, such as:
    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/newthread....newthread&f=21

    I want to pass a word to a new page and don't know how to read the data after the ?

    Any help would be much appreciated.
