    Re: Help with web site

    Hi,

I purchased Web Easy Pro 5 a couple of months ago because I wanted to build a very simple Website that I could manage myself. I have very little knowledge of computers, but found this software very easy to use. I have purchased a domain name and hosting. My problem is trying to publish my finished site. In Web Easy Pro 5 you are guided through the publishing stages step by step and I have entered all the information requested, but it just does not want to work. Web Easy gives you an option to publish your Website using a recommended hosting company and offer a free 12-hour trial. I have tried to use this as a test run, but keep running into an error code - on the help page it mentions this-

If you have a software or hardware firewall it may be blocking the Instant Publisher from connecting to the Internet. Popular firewalls are:

Windows XP firewall (automatically turned on with service pack 2)
    Norton Internet Security
    Zone alarm
    Black ice defender
    SheildsUp

I am using windows XP Home Edition and I have Norton Systemworks 2004. I have been advised by Web Easy support to turn off the firewall, which I have done on Norton, but this does not cure the problem. I am unsure whether or not I have Windows XP firewall? Or how to turn this off if I have?
I have bombarded support for numerous answers, but so far no solution to the problem.

Just wondering if anyone else has used this software or has encountered a problem like this? I would be grateful for any help.

Tackle the Web with $5.99 .COM's from Go Daddy!
    Hello Tyson!

First - to check the Windows firewall go to "Start"->"Settings"->"Control Panel"->"Security Center".
On the bottom of the window you will see "Manage security settings for:" - click on "Windows Firewall".
That will bring the Windows Firewall options window. Check "Off (not recommended)" insted of using "On (recommended)", click on "OK" button. You don't have to worry about the Firewall being turned off, because it doesn't do much anyway! Try using "Web Easy" publishing option now and see what happens!

It this doesn't solve the problem you may try moving your website files manually to your web space (hosting). Tell me if disabling the firewall fixed the problem and if not then I will give you more detailed information on how to manually publish your webiste!
