    Newbie to web site design

    Good evening all.

I have 30mb of Web capacity free from my web providrer (Telewest Blueyonder UK).
I could do with a very basic website that I can upload a "mix" to every couple of weeks.
Is there any free software that will get me started?

    Simon

    Hey Simon,

Have you got Frontpage? that will start you off but you can actually build a simple website using a text editor like WordPad. Do you know any basic HTML?

Let me know what you know, if anything about creating a site and I'll point you in the right direction.

heya, im a big suporter of the notepad stuff a good place to start is http://www.w3schools.com/ it explains very simple the basics of html, php and lots more.
the good thing about actualy learning the code instead of using a programm that makes it for you, is that you can do it anytime anywhere on any computer, without needing the software.
it might take some time but its worth it imho.

just look into it, and judge for yourself

    cheers

Yeah, I agree that learning the code and writing your own website is the best, but if you just want a cool webiste quickly with no hassle and headache you can always use a free layout (www.freelayouts.com) and just customize it for your needs. This is the option for those who "rather go for a walk than turn the computer on", but are still forced to be present in the endless river of ones and zeros ;]

I'm assuming that site doesn't always look the way it does now?
