new website - how to set up P&P ?
Hi, thanks for taking time to help. I am setting up a website to sell items, I live in the UK. Iwill be using paypal to take payments, I've no idea how to include variable postage and packaging on top of the product prices. Paypal, have a P&P option but it only goes on different bands of P&P for the amount of money spent on items
i.e. 0-£9.99 , £9.99-£19.99
I use the normal post office service which is governed by weight. I need to be able to give each item I sell a weight and when the customer goes to their basket, the actual weight of their purchase is given a corresponding P&P price. i.e. 3 x product A (where item A weighs 200g ) + 4 x product B (where item B weighs 100g ) giving a total of 1000g (1Kg) and that inserts the correct postage onto the invoice, Can anyone help ??
PS I'd prefer to use someone other than paypal they seem expensive, I will contact paypal to see if they can help
Cheers everyone, Fred (fredstreads)

Perhaps you could also look into a courier service. You will be surprised at their prices especially if you set up an account with them. There you will be charged the same price upto a certain weight. My Husband uses one that charges £7 upto 1kg (or is it more?) for the UK. Anyway, it is certainly worth a few enquiries.
The type of payment system you want is not 'off the shelf' and you would be best to choose a 'average' postal rate rather than per item.
Or, you could add your postage to the purchase price and at the checkout you can say that postage is included in the price. That way you have already taken into account the weight of the products they have ordered.
