My website was set up for me by my daughters ex boyfriend (no longer around) and I'm left on my own with this one.

I could update it by clicking on 'publish' logging on to my domain name service provider (Freedom Names) and publishing.

I suffered a major computer loss before Christmas in a flooded kitchen but have since had my old hard disc transfered to my new computer.

I reloaded Front Page and imported all my webpage files to my new computer and have found out from Freedom Names that the info I need is ftp://www.professorpopcorn.co.uk/

However I don't know how to use this information to get back to where I was before I lost my original computer.
When I click on publish now I don't get the popup to log on to Freedom Names which by the way is not my usual service provider which is Pipex Broadband. I would really appreciate some help as my website now hasn't been updated for 2 months which looks bad.

OK well I don't use Frontpage but I can tell you a relatively easy way you can update your website.

Firstly download SmartFTP from here http://www.smartftp.com/download/

Once that is downloaded run SmartFTP and where it says Address at the top left enter: ftp.professorpopcorn.co.uk then pu the user name and password and leave the port as 21. Now just hit enter and hopefully SmartFTP will log into your web hosting account and you will see various folders and files which make up your site.

See how you get on and let me know once your this far.

Also, just been looking at Frontpage for you and what actually pops up when you click File>Publish Web ? (make sure your online when you do this)

I downloaded Smart FTP and did what you said.All that happened was that my web site address appeared at the bottom of the page.

When I press publish in front page it says 'publishing to http://your-83725da and a pop up box appears that says 'web server idle'.I am on line througn my Pipex broadband and not Freedom Names dial up.
