I have e dell laptop running XP pro in it with the bsnl usb connect,since last day I am facing a problem my internet connection automatically goes off and displays modem not configured properly or already in use,and by itself gets connected again or sometimes I have to restart my laptop,I don't know what the problem is plz help me

Is that the only computer connected? Do other computers have connection problems? Did you reboot the modem? I would also try another Ethernet cable - they are not very robust and can easily be damaged.

Yes this is the only computer connected.I have tried two times to reinstall the modem driver but to no avail.......most of the times connection gets started automatically but sometimes i have to restart my laptop.what do i do to prevent this?its heights now.....plz plz help me as i am unable to do any work!!:no:

Hello Friend,
I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the modem driver. And try to scan the system with an updated antivirus as I suspect that the system is infected with some kind of virus.
