    printer head cleaning

    Hello

Its about my Canon i560 printer

Notprinting properly . I have tried all the "Deep Cleaning " in the "Maintenance" tab but the print is still streaky and the colours are not correct . I have hardly any red - Its green ! LOL

I have read some of the advice on here , but taking a printer apart is really not for me .

Does anybody have any clever way of cleaning the heads with a major overhaul .

I have searched the PC World site but found it useless

If anybody can help please email me [email removed for security reasons - Broni]

I am desperate as I do not want to replace my printer because of this silly thing

It is not safe to put your email address in posts as you have. You will receive spam if it is not removed, so I have notified the Administrator to remove it if you have no edit button to do so.

    Go to:
    • All Programs
    • Your installed Printer (Canon i560 printer)
    • There you should find the manual for cleaning your printer
Follow the step by step. Make sure you have not run out of ink as your symptom sounds as though your cartridge is low on ink.

    kind regards,

    Hi,
I have successfully cleaned my Canon i560 printheads as follows:
Remove the print head and handling it gently place it in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water mixed with 360 ml (a small bottle worth) of printer cleaning fluid, (the kind that comes with ink jet refill kits)

If you haven't got any of this, then a small amount of Fairy washing up liquid in it, might work but the printer fluid is better. Leave it soaking for 24 hours, well away from the kids and the cat, and you should return to a bowl of dirty water as all the ink should have drained.

Now this step is critical. Do not attempt to take a apart or rub violently. but very, very gently using a soft cloth, drain and dab away the excess ink seeping from the head. Be sure that your print head is dry before you put it back into your printer.

When you are sure that it is dry, put your cartridge back in your printer. You will need to do the normal cleaning tests, - a print nozzle and a clean head test. Hopefully it will be back to normal.

I hope this will work for you.

    Thanks,
    James

    Hello james
Thank you for your reply - I have tried this and I am very pleased with the results ! . I also found that soaking in distilled water first to remove all the ink until the water is clear - then soaking in iso Propylene alchool - repeat until this also becomes clear - then finally using print head cleaning fluid - Its also worth mentioning that the head should be throughly deied at every stage and the residue blown iwth an air can

    Kind regards

    Jim
