    Cool Toshiba T3100

I have an OLD Toshiba T3100 Portable that I would like to find some use for. So far I have not been able to come up with a solution. It just seems too good to junk however, I am at a lose trying to figure what to use it for other than a door stop. Right now it is just gathering dust in my closet. Any ideas would be welcome.

    Toshiba T3100 Portable PC
    80286-2 processor @ a clock rate of 8 megahertz
    640 K RAM
    integrated 3 1/2" fixed disk drive 10 M
    double sided/density 3 1/2" diskette
    high resolution plasma display
    parallel port
standard 9 pin RS-232-C serial port
    external RGB display connector

One possibility for unused computers in working condition is to donate to school children.

Here is one group that facilitates this world wide:

Donate Your Get One - OLPC

If you want to donate your own laptop, consider joining others in donating to a local school or group where kids can learn together, in a well-supported environment. OLPC encourages individuals to initiate their own regional community groups,

OLPC's grassroots mailing list is a great place to find others who will work with you here.
Here is a more general Google:

I live in Florida (USA) and tried several times to donate old working PCs, printers, monitors, etc. to local school/church charities. They only want newer state of the art stuff. I find it rather frustrating.

I tried that but kept tripping over it. Maybe you can use it in your shop as a chalk block/bike stand.

On a serious note, I tried unsucessfully to find a old Linux distro for a 286. Maybe I'll try pulling it apart and upgrading to a 386. The worst that could happen is I end up junking it.
