Click Fix Checked
Boot into Safe Mode (hit F8 before the loading Windows screen) and ensure that you are showing hidden files and folders (the link in my signature explains how).
Go to C:\Windows\System32 and delete idctup20.exe .
Then reboot into Normal Mode.
Download and unzip Appinit.zip .
Double click on Appinit.bat
This will create a file on the desktop named windows.txt
Upload windows.txt in your next reply. To do that do not use quick reply. Instead press the Reply button. When you do you will be able to attach a file to your reply (by click Manage Attachments at the bottom).
Attach Windows.txt Owen
Many thanks, that seems to have done the trick. See Windows.txt attached.
Do you happen to know how the PC caught this nasty infection? It's not my PC - I take better precautions. I cleared off half a dozen viruses and a trojan - so I assume it was one of those that caused the problem.
Many thanks for the help - I really appreciate it.
Cheers
Shaun Attached Files Its usually the IE Security Settings not being tight enough and no security programs installed that allows these pests to slip through.
That log doesn't contain what I'm looking for. It might take a while to get right because I am not totally experienced with the windows.txt logs but I'm learning. Could you run the bat file again and attach the log again. Thanks. Also download, update and run CWShredder
Click Fix, don't just scan. Let it fix everything it asks about. Many thanks for your further help Owen.
See attached windows.txt, which I do not think is any different to the first. I also attach a screenshot of the part of the registry which seems to be of interest to you, in case the other format is no good.
Nirvana - I've not managed to get ahold of CWShredder yet - the web server seems to be down.
Thanks again for your help guys.
Here's a hijack this log for good measure:

Things are running fine - thanks to your help. I was just waiting for a final OK of the logs and windows.txt before returning the machine to its owner.
Thanks again.
