That log is clean. I've seen a few connection problems like this with AOL before, I had a friend who couldn't connect at all. Are you on Broaband or 56K Dialup?

Anyway, I suggest you download and run Ad-aware, let that test your system for spyware. I don't rate Pest Patrol too many false positives including removing legitimate programs like Popup Stoppers. Here are instructions for downloading and running Ad-aware:

    Download Ad-aware from: http://www.lavasoft.de/res/aaw6.exe

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.

Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window

    1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
    • Automatically save log-file
    • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
    • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
    2. Click on the Scanning button on the left and select :
    • Scan Within Archives
    • Scan Active Processes
    • Scan Registry
    • Deep Scan Registry
    • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
    • Scan my Hosts file
    • Under Click here to select drives + folders, choose:
    • All of your hard drives
Click on the Advanced button on the left and select:
    • Include additional process information
    • Include additional file information
    • Include environment information
    • Include additional object details
Click the Tweak button and select:
    • Under the Scanning Engine:
      • Unload recognized processes during scanning
      • Include basic Ad-aware settings in logfile
      • Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile
    • Under the Cleaning Engine:
      • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
Click on Proceed to save the settings.

Click Start and on the next screen choose Activate in-depth Scan at the bottom of the page and then choose:
    • Use Custom Scanning Options
Click Next and Ad-aware will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected.

Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish

When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).

    Reboot your computer.

Wow now this does have me stumped, guess i should have mentioned on do have adware and ran the full deep scan.. Trying to think of what i have changed or done in the last few days to cause this problem, If it wasnt for AOL i would not be on at all.. Still getting page cannot be displayed on IE.. I did change anti virus from EZ to Panda the other day.. you dont think its a corrupt winsock?? I actually hope not as I hear its a pain in the ass to fix..

    Diehard

also I did try the LSP fix thingy but there was nothing on the right side?? for me to remove

so if its not corrupt winsock or lsp thingy Im gonna toss this thing right out the window lol

Could you try uninstalling Panda and installing AVG (link in the Protect Your PC For Free thread at the top of the forum).

Panda usually adds some LSP's but they aren't showing up in your Hijack This Log.

Ok I uninstall my Panda and installed AVG but still no luck, wierd I can log on AOL but not IE or Firefox.. and to answer your previous question I am on Broadband. If I reload Windows 2000 maybe that will fix it?? and If I do will I lose everything on my puter

    thanks for your help OWen

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Do you have a firewall installed?
