My computer has a virus that is sending e mails from my hotmail account to my contact list that contains inappropriate material.

Are those messages listed in "Sent" folder?

A Friend told me that they received it . I just checked my sent box and is shows there ,however, it show as a delivery failure

Start with changing hotmail password.
