Hi, i am currently experiencing very high mem usage on the "system" process (not system idle process) it is currently using 130,980K on the system process alone, my brother is running a similar OS to me (i have XP Pro MCE, he just has XP pro)

i have followed the instructions at the top, but there is no GMER log as it freezes the computer (in both normal and safe mode)

around a month ago i was able to run firefox, windows media player and play a game (football manager 2011) with very little problems (it started getting slow but i did have 17 tabs open in FF )
and now it freezes doing a simple scan i do apologise about the GMER log but i have tried scanning with the suggestions in the "read this before posting" thread.

Hi broni,

you may erase/lock this thread as my hard drive has failed completely, it let out an awful screeching noise and now the hard drive wont spin up at all, i have attatched another hard drive to the computer and re-installed XP MCE and all in now well.

i had no previous warning just a really loud click and a long screech then nothing.
