I cannot search Yahoo or go to google.com

    Hello,

I am trying to fix my Sister-In-Law's computer and I need help with this log file that is attached. First, here is the problem. She can open yahoo.com, but she cannot search anything on yahoo. She cannot open google.com at all. She can go to ask.com and form her searches in as a question.

I did a search on this problem and it seems to be a nasty virus, I installed AVG Free and it found no viruses. From the search I did, I ran HijackThis software and it found lots of info, it created a log file. I am not that savy or confident to go any further.

Can someone please review the log file attached and recommend what I need to fix? I appreciate this very much.

    Welcome aboard

Please, complete all steps listed here: HERE

    Please, observe following rules:
    • Read all of my instructions very carefully. Your mistakes during cleaning process may have very serious consequences, like unbootable computer.
    • If you're stuck, or you're not sure about certain step, always ask before doing anything else.
    • Please refrain from running tools or applying updates other than those I suggest.
    • Never run more than one scan at a time.
    • Keep updating me regarding your computer behavior, good, or bad.
    • The cleaning process, once started, has to be completed. Even if your computer appears to act better, it may still be infected. Once the computer is totally clean, I'll certainly let you know.

Thank you broni, I do not see my Sister-In-Law much so this is going to be a long process. I did step 1 and it found 161 infected objects. I will let you know when I do the other two steps. Thanks so much for the help!
