    fake antivirus software, worm?

i seem to have acquired some sort of worm/virus, i dont know exactly, it installed itself through a pop-up i think, and immediately started giving me various warning messages supposedly from windows. these were occasionally misspelled and obviously fake, and it also would shut my computer down at random times. it also installed some "defense center" antivirus software, fake as well it would seem. all without my prompting.

here's my hijack log, note that hijack told me that my computer was denying write access to the hosts file and that if it wasn't able to fix it, I would have to do it manually. I'm not sure what this means, so if it affects my log let me know how to fix it.
