OK. Right click on a folder, click "Properties".
What does it say under "Location"?
What's the exact folder name listed in "Properties" window?
Can you give me a screenshot of "Properties" window?

Hi Broni,
Here is the screenshot.
The full Path reads "C:\Documents and Settings\Russell Chapman\Desktop"
This may sound like desperation, I have considered downloading Sandboxie and moving the folder there, if it will be moved. Last time I played around with Sandboxie though I was unable to figure out how to move a file into it.

Hello again,
Some thoughts on this process.
It has reinforced the intention to steer clear of warez.
I was impressed with Kaspersky, though finding 2 bootlegs of itself was perhaps unsurprising, but it found other stuff as well.
I am considering a subscription, and there is another thing that looks good as well as Kaspersky, Cleaner. From what I have read, I think this is an either/or proposition. Correct?
Bit Defender also looks good, though a tad expensive in comparison to the other 2.

Hi Broni,
I did not phrase my last post very well, so I am not surprised my meaning was unclear, sorry about that.
What I meant to say was I was considering Kaspersky AVP and Cleaner. Kaspersky really impressed with the on-line scan, and I have heard good reports of Cleaner. What I meant by "either/or" is can both Kaspersky AVP, and Cleaner, run on the same machine at the same time? Or would it be like running two AV apps simultaneously, which is generally not recommended?
Now that the persistent folder has been removed (Old Timers kick butt!

), do you think it was a virus, or just some Windows oddity?

As for that folder, no, nothing malicious. Stubborn folders/files like that happen.
