I have a brand new machine, and it has Malware Bytes, and AVG . Is either one of those programs already taking care of what Defender does? Thanks!

Personally, I don't use Windows Defender, because I've never seen it catching anything.
I'm not a big fan of AVG, but if it works for you, that's fine.
Malwarebytes is an excellent addition.
