Back at my laptop, I created a new Firefox profile. The problem still occurs (both in old and new profile).

What can I do ? Do you want more details of the "problem" ?

I want you to uninstall Firefox again (total uninstall: Uninstalling Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base).
Install fresh copy, but DO NOT use your FF backed up profile, yet.
I want to see, if pure FF will redirect you.

Complete Firefox Uninstall: done.

Fresh copy of FF: Installed.

But in the pure FF, the problem is still occurring.

Download OTL to your Desktop.

* Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
* Under the Custom Scan box paste this in:

• Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them back here.
  Since those are pretty big files, you can attach them, if you wish.
