    Re: [Active] Google, redirection (Firefox)

I'll be out for a while, but.....

    Download OTL to your Desktop.

    * Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    * Under the Custom Scan box paste this in:

    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    %systemroot%\system32\eventlog.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\scecli.dll
    %systemroot%\netlogon.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\cngaudit.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\sceclt.dll
    %systemroot%\ntelogon.dll
    %systemroot%\system32\logevent.dll

    * Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows: OTL.txt and Extras.txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them back here.
Since those are pretty big files, you can attach them, if you wish.

Two new icons were created on my desktop: "Desktop.ini"
Go Tools>Folder options>View tab and make sure "Hide protected operating system files" IS checkamrked.

Create new FF profile: Profile Manager - MozillaZine Knowledge Base and see, if it has same problem.

    New profile created.

The problem is still occurring with the new profile....but is really less frequent (I said 2 % of the time).

It looks like your old profile is corrupted, but let me see one more thing.

Download FoxScan from HERE, or HERE
Double click on FoxScan.exe to start the scan.
    DOS-like window will pop-up.
Press 2 for English. Press Enter.
Be patient. It'll take few minutes.
When the tool is done, it'll display:

    Search completed.
    Press any key to coninue...

    Press any key.
Notepad window titled Rapport-FS.txt will open.
Save the file to known location, and attach it to your next reply.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
When I clicked Yes, the notepad is empty (“Untitled”).
I can’t find the file anywhere.
