that it was scanning.. and that it should take 10 mins unless seriously infected, then it would double. I was just curious about how long this scan will take? should i expect it to take a long time?

Give it another 30 minutes. If still nothing, let me know.

ok. i had family here for Thanksgiving dinner... i had to move all my computer gear, so i will rescan. If it goes on longer than an hr, i'll come back and let you know.

Delete Combofix manually....
Delete Combofix, Qoobox folders,and Combofix.txt file from C:
Delete Combofix from your desktop


Download fresh copy from http://www.adrive.com/public/1ee2a01c8190e93a4f5225684acb135d90b8cefa749f7105ab eaf91b99da4ff7.html
and try to scan again.
I renamed the file for a reason

there are about 30 combofix folders on c: . and the exe file and a 'combofix' next to a computer icon? i am doing a search, and so far no .txt file either. As well there are 26 (so far) Combofix files on C:. Is that normal? I just wanted to double check before i do anything.


edited cause i thought the folders were individual files.

That's fine. Since Combofix didn't finish, it didn't create any folder yet.

still scanning for well over an hr with no results.

my computer seems to be running a little better now though. I vacuumed out the fan and it decreased the % but it still hits the 80-100 range without me doing much at all.
