    Thumbs down Backdoor Trojans

Ok so I decided to run anti-virus/spyware scans on a secondary computer that I hardly use & zone alarm found a couple of back door trojans. I hadn't run a scan in quite sometime because I really don't use this computer more than just to update it. Anyway I'm running Spybot S&D now. The antivirus that came with it, CA AntiVirus, didn't find anything.

Not seeing in backdoor trojans or otherwise, so...let's explore a little.

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and zLaunch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Ok, I'm running the malwarebytes scan now. Meanwhile where does SB S&D keeps it's logs? I told it to save the log in my documents but it didn't. Do you need to see it? Is CA antivirus any good?

Its only a secondary computer so I don't use it much. I didn't have any "symptoms" to begin with. BTW I have it connected to my primary computer by an eithernet cable so that my primary can share my wireless adapter with it by way of a bridge. Because of that could it have infected my computer?

It is possible, run the MBAM scan and if it is ok and no symptoms, surf away.

My primary computer? My weekly complete scan of Avira ran yesterday with nothing out of the ordinary.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
I've tried scanning my primary computer with MBAM but each time the program eventually terminates unexpectedly & without any error. I'll eventually notice that it isn't running. It starts up & starts the scan without any errors. I'm running it as the administrator. So what would cause that? Is that a bad sign?
