[Resloved] winpc antivirus I apologise and rather assume this has all been spoken about before, but I've recently acquired the rather annoying 'WinPC Antivirus' which is clearly not an antivirus program but a malware program?
Having searched around a bit, I discovered that 'malwarebytes' was the universal choice to get rid of it, but I'm unable to use it. I've installed it but when i click on the program, I get the egg timer and nothing happens.
I've tried to get rid of it manually, having killed the process on the task manager because its constant alerts were doing my head in and also deleting the files & logs in the registry that are noted on numerous websites. However, my browser (firefox or ie) are still directing me to random websites and I'm pretty sure the threat still exists. Whether it does or not, I'm pretty sure I have lots of different threats on my computer and I can't get rid of them because I can't use any anti-spyware software at the moment, it simply won't work.
Any help? I'd like to point out I'm not that good with computers first! :idunno:
