IT runs smoother now. I still have a problem with scrolling. For example, when I scroll down on these forums, it's slow and choppy. I've tried turning off smooth scrolling, but it still does it. Any suggestions?

    What browser is it?
Does it happen in browser only?

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same thing?

It was happening when I would try to go throught the HTJ logs too.
    In Notepad, or...?

What programs are you running at this very moment?
What type of mouse is it?

    Firefox

In the lower right, McAfee Security Center is up, but doesn't appear to be scanning.

There are 32 processes. I stopped things like Windows Messenger from starting up.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
I want you to open some other programs, which require scrolling, like IE, some office document, etc. to see, if slow scrolling happens there too.
You didn't say what type of mouse it is, mechanical (ball), optical, wireless, wired, PS/2, USB...?
