Hi, I feel like my computer has been hijacked and I can't do anything about it. I am running XP Pro, and it works well, but I have this ad that pops up telling me that my privacy and security is at risk and I need to click on the ad to download the solution. I have run both Norton Antivirus and Windows Defender and it's still there. It's very annoying.

Another symtom is that I cannot get to my Task Manager... when I try to bring it up, (ctrl-alt-del) it says that it has been disabled by the admisitrator. I then go into the registry (per windows help) and reset the switch, but it doesn't work, because when I reboot, the switch gets reset again. I feel this is related to the ad that has hijacked my system.

I have my pop-up blocker on my browser set to the highest level, but the ad still pops up.

Any suggestions?

I found a thread describing the same problem. Went to HijackThis and downloaded the software, ran it and got a log file. I was told to leave the log file where someone knowledgeable can tell me what I need to remove: Is anyone here able to do that? The log is below:
