I recently downloaded ht v1.98.0 to replace 1.97.7 (the previous version). Previous backups remain in the installation dir, but ht does not show them in the "Backups" window. Re-installing 1.97.7 makes them visible (and accessible) once again. I was unable to find anything about this on Merijn's website. Does anyone know how to make previous backups accessible to 1.98.0?

If your system has been running o.k. since last HJT you won't need those backups.

Thanks for the reply. I understand. And, even though I don't think I have a need for the backups, I am curious as to whether the inaccessibility to previous backups is intentional (for others who might need very recent backups made just prior to installing the new version, for example). If so, is it time-stamp related?

I think if you updated HJT rather than downloading the new version seperately you would still have the backups in the upgrade. I couldn't update however because the server was too busy.

By downloading the new version seperately you are effectively running a different programme so you may not be able to transfer the backups. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
