    Need help with a virus.

Yesterday night, I was browsing online and out of nowhere got a notice from Avast about some virus. Avast was able to block it and then during the second notice my computer started lagging way too much, before I knew it some thing by the name of "Total Security 2009" showed up saying my computer was infected and it had installed itself, I figured that was part of the virus. Also my wallpaper was changed to an anti-virus "notice" sort of thing but it's clearly a mock from the virus itself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome,

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and zLaunch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Please download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:Delete the old version you have

CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:HijackThis - Trend Micro USA

    7. Click on "Edit -> Select All" then click on "Edit -> Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    8. Come back here to this thread and paste the log in your next reply.

No signs from the virus whatsoever. Computer seems to be working fine.

On a side note (This is a laptop) when I press the volume buttons to go up, down or to mute, the on-screen pop-up that would show up to display as the volume goes up or down isn't showing up anymore after the computer was infected. Is there any way to make this come back?

If you need any specifics the laptop is a Dell Vostro 1500
