Nothings wrong with the power & modem. All of the other computers on the network connect. If combofix can I use the restore point?

I' not sure what you're saying. Did you turn computer off and reset modem/router?Nothings wrong with the power & modem
I'd like to avoid system restore, because I can't see any note from Combofix, if restore point was created before it ran. You may check though.
The program said that it was creating one but there isn't one there. There is one from when I installed superantisypware.
I want to avoid resetting the modem/router because of other users. That and none of the other computers are having internet connection problems. Wireless hasn't worked on this computer connected to our router since I first tried to connect to it but eithernet worked. Now after combofix that doesn't even work.

Resetting modem/router won't affect other computers. They'll simply lose connection for that 1 minute, when the modem/router is off.
It's very basic troubleshooting step.
Nope.![]()
Try system restore then, and we'll re-run scans.
Ok once I was able to do a restore it fixed the problem; I can now connect wired & wireless. I had trouble doing the restore. It failed twice with an unknown error when started in normal mode but it was successful in safe mode. Is that significant? I'm about to run a scan with superantispyware & I'll post on the results in the morning. So essentially I've made no progress today.![]()
It's OK. The most important thing, you have your connection back.
If you're talking about system restore, sometimes it happens in normal mode while safe mode is successful. It failed twice with an unknown error when started in normal mode
I highly recommend, you use Erunt: ERUNT and NTREGOPT
Manual: Using ERUNT for backing up the registry
In my opinion, it's better, then System Restore, and I use it on all my Windows versions.
You re-run your scans, and when we'll get up to Combofix, we'll make sure to create fresh restore point (or use Erunt) before we run it.
