computer hijacked!
Would you tell me where to post this to get help:
I tried to do what was suggested (install spybot, etc) and got an error when trying to install both spybot and superantispyware. With spybot, I downloaded the application, then tried to run it and got and error:
flie download:
Error sending request. The server name or address could not be resolved.
Then, when I tried to get superantispyware, I could not get to the webpage: It came up briefly then went away and I got this error:
superantispyware"
ie cannot display the webpage"
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.
Seems I cannot even get to tools to help me get rid of whatever it is. ALso, not sure if this is where I shoud post this (didn't go to hijack this forum as I haven't been able to do the preliminaries yet).
Re anti virus: the computer has mcafee (on access scan. virus scan console, etc) from the university of md only and that is updated. Last scan was ok, scan before found a few trojans and deleted them.
Thanks in advance!
