    IE Invalid Syntax

Everytime I try to select a page to open in IE i receive 2 messages. One box pops up and reads Internet Explorer Error. The next box pops up and reads Internet Explorer Invalid syntax. It will not open the website. I have also tried to search in Firefox. I do not get these messages however after a few searches, I get some sort of virus or spyware pop up saying I have to clean infected files. I immediately logged out. Please help. I'm so sick of these viruses!

    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

It looks like you are running AVG8 and you have remnents of symantec on your system and needs to be removed, so run the symantec uninstaller for that.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

    Update Java: Security Issue

    * Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
    * Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )

It should have next icon next to it:
    Select it and click Remove.
    * The current version can be downloaded from Sun here: Java SE Downloads - Sun Developer Network (SDN) Scroll down the page to 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u14(or higher) and press the 'Download' button. On the new web page, click the 'Accept License Agreement' button. Then select 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' in the Windows Platform area just below the Accept button.

Please post the MBAM log and a new hijackthis log please.
