Re: [Resolved] Malware in my AV!

    Hi Broni,
    Just a final detail.
I contacted Malwarebytes re the accesss denied to logs. They suggested uninstalling and reinstalling, using the clean out utility they have (just like Norton) and ended up as stumped as you and I.
Yesterday, and for completely different reasons, I changed firewalls. I was using Comodo, which I have learned to live with but never really liked. The first replacement was Zone Alarm, which I have used previously, and found easier to train. That has some conflict with Avast, so my next attempt was Jetico Personal Firewall which I have been running on my other computer without problems.
Subsequently I scanned a downloaded file, and mbam gave me a log!
I have contacted them to let them know and they say they already don't like Comodo for other reasons, so this is just one more.
So, FYI, mbam may have conflicts with Comodo. The oddest of the odd things was that the error messages were Windows generated not Comodo's usual annoying warnings.
It is possible in your moderating you may come accross this issue again so I thought I should pass it on.
    Cheers, and many thanks.
    Russell

    Thanks for interesting info.
I use Comodo, and I was involved in many threads, where people with Comodo were running 'Bytes, and I've never encountered your kind of problem.
I guess, it's another confirmation of very old computer rule, that every computer is unique, and there is ni single program, which will run well on all computers. There will be always that one, or two computer, where dang thing will be having problems

Yes they do seem to have personalities don't they.
I too used Comodo for a long period of time and never had an issue with mbam, until recently.
As you encounter more computers than I do perhaps you could contact mbam and ask what (other) issues they have with Comodo.
    So, is the surf up?
