Google links, unable to download/update anti-virus protection

So I have found two problems going on right now. The first one that I noticed is that the links that google provides take me somewhere other than the website it is supposed to go to. As I have been reading the forum I have been trying to do different things to fix the problem. I have tried to download superantispyware and other programs that are supposed to scan, but when I go to there websites and try to download, I am told that the link is broken. I do have McAfee and have used this to scan, unfortunately I can't copy and paste the log. The two last times that I have scanned a trojan has been removed: NTOSKRNL-HOOK. I imagine if I run it again it will "remove" it for a third time. I have updated McAfee several times over the last few days, but today I got an alert saying that my detection signature file is 8 to 29 days old so I think that the malware is even preventing McAfee from updating. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I was able to go to another computer and download superantispyware. I have installed it and ran it. It did solve the problem of being able to download anti virus software and McAfee is now up-to-date. However, the google links still take me to a different website.

Here is my log from superantispyware:

Run hijackthis and click on "scan system only" button and put checks next to these:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.178,85.255.112.99
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.178,85.255.112.99

Please close ALL browser windows (including this one).

Everything closed out but hijackthis and click on "fix checked"

    Reboot your PC

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and zLaunch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

    Update Java: Security Issue

    * Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
    * Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )

It should have next icon next to it:
    Select it and click Remove.
    * The current version can be downloaded from Sun here: Java SE Downloads - Sun Developer Network (SDN) Scroll down the page to 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u12(or higher) and press the 'Download' button. On the new web page, click the 'Accept License Agreement' button. Then select 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' in the Windows Platform area just below the Accept button.

It looks like you have symantec also running with Mcafee and not a good idea. You should uninstall one of your anti-virus programs as many problems will occur.

So I ran hijackthis and fixed the items you had mentioned. I installed mbam, but have not been able to run it. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, I even downloaded it on a different computer and burned it on to a cd to put on my computer just in case, but I have never been able to get it to do anything. I double click on the icon and it has not run. I did have norton ghost that was a free thing that came with my computer and had long run out. I have uninstalled all things symantic from my computer. What do I need to do to get mbam running?

Here is my new hijackthis log:

Have you run super antispyware? will it run?

Try renameing mbam by right clicking the desktop icon you have and select rename and name it babybunny.exe then hit enter and try running it.

I tried renaming first the desktop shortcut, and then the actual file, and still no dice. Here is my SuperAntiSpyware Scan Log from a couple of days ago.

    * Click here to use the F-Secure Online Scanner
    • Then click the Start Scanning button below.
    • You should get a notification (bar on top) to install the activeX. Click on it and select to install the ActiveX.
    • Once the ActiveX is installed, you should accept the License terms by clicking OK below to start the scan.
    • In case you are having problems with installing the ActiveX/starting the scan, please read here.
    • Click the Full System Scan button.
    • It will start to download scanner components and databases. This can take a while.
    • The main scan will start.
    • Once the scan finished scanning, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button
    • It could be possible that your firewall gives an alert - allow it, because that's a connection you establish to submit infected files to F-Secure.
    • The cleaning can take a while, so please be patient.
    • Then click the Show report button and copy and paste what's present under results in your next reply.

Try running MBAM from safe mode explained below:

Now reboot into safe mode( without networking support) by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

If that doesn't work do this please:

    * Click on Start, click Run, and then type devmgmt.msc and click OK
    * On the View menu click on Show hidden devices
    * Browse to Non-Plug and Play Drivers and you should see something like TDSSserv.sys
    * Highlight that driver and right click on it and select DISABLE
    * Now RESTART your computer.
    * Download a copy of Malwarebytes but DO NOT run it yet.
    * Rename the downloaded installer file to any generic name such as your own name but keep the .EXE extension on the file and run it.
    * Once the program is installed go to the UPDATE tab and try to update the program if you can.
    * Then go to the SCANNER tab and run a Quick Scan and allow MBAM to fix anything found.

    Also do this please:

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
    ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

    * Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
    * This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
    * Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
    * Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
    * Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
    * Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
    * When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found:

    * If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
    * After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
    * Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
    * Close Dr.Web Cureit.
    * Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
    * After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply. You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report.
