    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched.exe"
Your system has an outdated version(s) of Sun Java that could create serious security exposure issues for your PC.

    Update your Java.

Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.0 Update 12 or higher, and install it to your computer.

New Version should then show as:
    • START-> RUN-> cmd
    • copy & paste JAVA –VERSION and hit Enter key

    java version "1.6.0_12" or higher

Older JAVA versions have vulnerabilities that malware can and are using to infect systems.

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.
    • Close any programs you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
    • Click Start > Control Panel.
    • Click Add/Remove Programs.
    • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in the name.
    • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
    • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java.
    • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • Run the scan in SAFEMODE (tapping the F8 key on bootup), if necessary.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from HERE and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
    • Once the program has loaded, select "Full Scan", then click Scan.
    • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
    • When disinfection is completed , a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart(See Extra Note).
    • A run log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs TAB in MBAM.
    • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
    • Please post any current revised observations.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

You are using Windows (XP). Try the following link instead:

    java.com: Java + You
    • Click the 'Free Java Download' Button.
    • Click 'Verify Java Version' Button.
    • Download 'Version 6 Update 12' when offered.

Otherwise, move on to the next step.

that's what I thought I was supposed to put, but it wasn't an option, so I just did windows again and it worked that time ) it's installed now, I'm just going back and finding the next step in your directions. thank you! am I doing good so far? lol

hey, ok, so I did the scan and made sure everything was checked...I removed it all and restarted to get back online and find out what to do next...but when I got back to regular windows, I couldn't open Firefox or yahoo messenger. (correction: I could open them, but they would not connect to the internet) I checked the internet connection and everything was connected, so I gave aim and myspaceIM a try. Both of them connected fine, so I called time warner cable and the technician went though a few steps with me and told me that the problem was that a registry file got delete and that's why those wouldn't work...so I did a system restore back to 11:19pm when I had installed Java 6u12 hoping that I could get those files back. Well...It worked, and now I'm hoping you can look at the list before I delete anything this time. Should I re-install the malware program and try the scan over without deleting anything this time until you see the list?

You could do that and post its findings.

I believe I can see the nature of your issues but will need to research further to determine an appropriate course of action - the service name in question is currently 'masked':

Tojan attached to smss.exe - Tech Support Guy Forums
shows the risk to be "Trojan.Adclicker" on the filename "smss.exe". I am able to clean or delete it each time but it still does not allow Firefox or IE to work once completed. When I reboot again it will immediately pop-up in the QuickScan. I am unable to open either Firefox or IE. It consistently crashes upon every attempt to open.

ok, so now the malware program wont work for me...it keeps coming up with errors :-( so I'm going to do a system restore back to last week before I started having any of these problems. And from there I guess start over and see if I even had the virus then. If I don't, then I'll re-download the java program and hijackthis and make sure there are no other problems or virus's.

ok, so here we go again, can you please if you have time look through this and tell me if I still have a problem? I don't see one really, aside from the fact that this comp is 7 years old and slow becuz it's outdated lol but yea, I don't know who virus protection programs I should have or anything, right now I just have ccleaner and AVG. Any help would be apreciated!

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
No issues showing in that HJT LOG - but, that is one short log. Looks like you may have disabled a whole lot of stuff in MSCONFIG.

I would prefer it if you can tell me that you ran MBAM (can run it in SAFEMODE or as a renamed application, if necessary - some malware look for specific programs by name).

    Antivirus:

Given the age of this PC, AVG 8 FREE may be a little too resource intensive but also includes a revised version of AVGAS 7.5. You might want to consider VIPRE (both AV and antimalware combined - can then uninstall the aging AVGAS 7.5) for a very fair price (http://www.vipreantivirus.com/Stats - $US30) or NOD32 (Want the best antivirus software? Compare antivirus software solutions now.). You could trial either one and then decide.
