HELP! Virtumonde virus and Backdooragent!sd5
Hi
I scanned my computer using AVG/spybot/spydoctor. The scans showed I had trojan-downloader.injecter/Trojan virtumonde and Backdoor.Agent!sd5. Been trying to get rid of them but to no avail! Now my computer won't let me go on the desktop and a blue screen pops up saying problem with LVPRCMON.Sys. Tech info: STOP: 0x000000d4 (0xF882f410, 0x0000002, 0x000000, 0x804E8088) Any help would be appreciate. Thanks! Emi

If you can get to safe mode (tapping the F8 key while rebooting), run the following scan (quickly using 'networking support' option or downloaded from another PC, if necessary):
* Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
- If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
- If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from HERE and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
- Once the program has loaded, initially select the often highly productive "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
….. AND/OR - It is also highly advisable to run the longer ”Full Scan” in addition to the above scan.
- The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
- When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
- Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
- When disinfection is completed , a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart(See Extra Note).
- A run log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs TAB in MBAM.
- Copy&Paste the entire report(s) in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
- Please post any current revised observations.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

We will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix and you might not be able to access the Internet. Accordingly, it is probably a good idea to print out the following directions or copy them to a text file on your desktop using NOTEPAD. Read these instructions carefully and feel free to ask if you're unsure about anything.
Please disable the ‘active protection’ components of the following application(s), as it/they may hinder the removal of some entries. Otherwise, certain cleaning attempts may be wrongly recognized and blocked as hijacking attempts or other potentially inappropriate behavior. You can re-enable such tools after your computer is clean.
Disable Spybot S&D (Teatimer)
- Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
- If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
- On the left hand side, Click on Tools
- Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
- Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
- Restart your computer.
When disabled, please download (recommend using Internet Explorer) ResetTeaTimer.bat
Double-click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer. This is done so it can be re-enabled without problems after cleaning.
SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4D2D1276-C87E-4909-831C-6C609BFDBE65} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6D794CB4-C7CD-4c6f-BFDC-9B77AFBDC02C} - (no file)
Make sure that all browser windows and internet links are closed, even this one!
CLICK ’FIX CHECKED’ with HijackThis.
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03 Your system has an outdated version(s) of Sun Java that could create serious security exposure issues for your PC.
Update your Java.
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.0 Update 11 or higher, and install it to your computer.
New Version should then show as (per HijackThis log):
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_11\… or higher
Older JAVA versions have vulnerabilities that malware can and are using to infect systems.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.
- Close any programs you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
- Click Start > Control Panel.
- Click Add/Remove Programs.
- Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in the name.
- Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
- Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java.
- Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:- Post a new HijackThis log.
- Provide any feedback commentary as appropriate - how things are now behaving: any new or remaining apparent issues.

Download and run ERUNT to create a registry backup which can be restored (if ever needed) using Start > Run:
%SystemRoot%\ERUNT\[user/system named folder*]\ERDNT.EXE
*To restore a previous registry backup, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where you saved the backup to, and locate or double-click the relevant
ERDNT.EXE file to start the restoration program. (Each restore folder has its own copy of ERDNT.EXE in it.)
Copy the entire contents inside the Quote box (below) and Paste it into Notepad (this will only work with Notepad ) name the file Regfix.reg and in the drop down box, save it as All Files. Save it to your desktop. If you saved the file correctly it should look like this
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=-
"AppInit_DLLs"="avgrsstx.dll" Then Rightclick on the Regfix.reg file and click on Merge - when it asks you to merge with the Registry, say yes.
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: avgrsstx.dll narbrb.dll <--These both load at start up, the regfix removes them both and then puts avgrsstx.dll back which is required for your AVG Anti Virus.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\narbrb.dll (Trojan.Vundo.H) -> Delete on reboot.
Let us know if you are having any remaining issues.
