Yeah still good with the no popups etc, although i did get a warning from AVG just as i logged back on there saying it caught a trojan in the system restore files or something similar and was running from the process svchost.exe...
heres the details of it on AVG
Trojan horse Generic12.ADHR --- C:\System Volume Information\_restore{long code here}\RP244\A0074783.dll --- Moved to virus vault - process: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe

Follow directions below for flushing system restore:
Flush your restore points in ME and XP, by turning System Restore off and then back on.
This will create a fresh restore point.

Well that seems to be it all perfectly working fine again.
Just wanna say thanks alot for the help Neal you saved me a reformat, and keep it up 
P.S i dont know if you can but are you able to delete threads? check the windows forum section XP/vista etc theres a chinese scam guy going around spamming the place up just thought id give a heads up

Be sure to re-hide hidden files/folders if you were asked to unhide them

5. Consider using an alternate free browser for general web surfing but you must use IE for windows update.

6. Consider increasing your browser security by using Spyware Blaster:
