Hello, I had a problem and asked about it on here and have found I have a defender type Trojan on my PC. I know where it has come from almost certainly. I downloaded Errorsmart, and looking on the net I see all the warnings about it. I have managed to remove quite a bit of it but still some remains, could you suggest a way I can remove all the infection from my PC please, Thank you

Please download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:Delete the old version you have

CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:TrendSecure | Download TrendMicro HijackThis

1. Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
2. Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
5. Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
7. Click on "Edit -> Select All" then click on "Edit -> Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
8. Come back here to this thread and paste the log in your next reply.
9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

* Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and zLaunch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.


Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Thank you I did a malwarebytes scan yesterday and it did not show anything but if you want me to do another one that's fine, just say.

Everything is looking good except for minor cleanup with hijackthis:



I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:

1. Run Spybot-S&D
2. Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3. On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts

You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.



Run hijackthis and click on "scan system only" button and put checks next to these:

How is your PC behaving now?

Yes thanks certainly seems much better. However my original problem I came to you about is still happening..........my PC shuts down without warning, it will restart itself but it does say it shut down unexpectedly and to press any key to start windows normally which is what I do, any ideas please? If i may ask, thank you

That can be a tricky thing to solve.

Have you installed anything lately prior to this problem.

Sounds like a incompatiabilty problem.

What about BullGuard, may be some conflict with Windows Defender or SpyBot.

Maybe a driver problem.

You may be money ahead taking the PC to a "shop".
