Strange disconnect problems
hello, somehow i have been repeatedly disconnected from my ISP while using either my internet explorer or netscape browser. I have talked to three tech people at my ISP and they say they don't know why.... I also talked to three tech people at microsoft, thinking this was the Sasser worm. I DID have the Sasser worm and got rid of it.... but am still having disconnect problems. I'm not sure if this is a virus or something wrong with my modem or dial-up software. I don't get any warnings or notice windows popping up to tell me anything. Suddenly my internet icon on my taskbar disappears, and i am no longer online. I did notice that when i download something, the KB per second transfer rate slowly drops... not sure where to get help. Any suggestions?

Have you run a complete virus scan, blaster virus will do this. http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/
Make sure that idle disconnect is not ticked in your dial up settings. If you have call waiting activated on the line this can sometimes do that as well.

I went to the Panda site and clicked on the "scan computer" button several times and always get an "error has occurred-page not found" message.... But I did download the Stinger program and it says my computer is clean. I'm wondering if something might be wrong with my modem....
