    CONSTANT and relentless pop-ups

hi. i have tried everything i know and that i've found in other similar threads to fix my problem and it has been to no avail. whether on or off the internet ( and i usually use firefox) i am getting these pop ups from internet explorer and they will not stop. i am running a free version of Avira Antivirus and have scanned with spybot s&d as well as ad-aware and have had no luck. many of the pop ups are unsuitable and i would appreciate any help you have to offer. thanks in advance for your help.

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, select "Full Scan", then click Scan.
    • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
    • When disinfection is completed , a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart(See Extra Note).
    • A run log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs TAB in MBAM.
    • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a HijackThis log.
    • Please post any current revised observations.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

'Trojan.Lop' is responsible for your popups.

Look in Add/Remove Programs (Control Panel) and see if there is a CID or 'Messenger Plus' (with sponsor) entry – remove (uninstall) it.

The following tool will not necessary fix any or all of your popup issues but will at least provide potentially valuable diagnostic information:

Please Download NoLop to your desktop from one of the links below...
    Link 1
    Link 2
    • First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
    • Double click NoLop.exe to run it
    • Now click the button labeled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
    • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
    • Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
    • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish. Please Post the contents of C:\NoLop.log

--If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder and then rerun the program.

Re-run MBAM and fix all that it finds rather than the 'No action taken' as per the last scan using that tool.

SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Store file readme bash] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\city about store file\build roam.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Glue vc] C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\APPLIC~1\1FILM~1\logo dumb.exe

Make sure that all browser windows and internet links are closed, even this one!
    CLICK ’FIX CHECKED’ with HijackThis.

    REBOOT.

Navigate to the following files or folders using Windows Explorer (OR Start -> Search) and delete (if present):
    -- OR --
Use <Windows+F KEYS> and paste each FULL FILENAME Search PATH line (where available).
-NOTE-----> Windows KEY is located on the left between the <Ctrl and Alt KEYS>.

    DELETE FOLDERS:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\city about store file
    C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\APPLIC~1\1FILM~1

POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:
    • Post a new HijackThis log.
    • Provide any feedback commentary as appropriate - how things are now behaving: any new or remaining apparent issues.

just wanted to say i haven't forgotten that you've been helping me or anything but i'm kind of at a standstill and when you have a chance i would be grateful for suggestions or alternatives. thanks for the help so far! and by the way one other small problem that has been going on for quite sometime ( every time i would shut down my computer it would open a small window saying "explorer.exe is not responding" and then it would wait for me to end now or cancel before it would continue shutting down) has stopped! in the last two days i have shut this machine down and that has not happened once so thanks so far for helping me correct what was an on-going problem as a result of correcting others. i have tried again so you know to use the link you last gave me and it still is not working so whenevr you can help i will be waiting. thanks

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
One of the simplest ways to try and remove files and folders of concern is to do so in SAFE MODE:
SAFEMODE: Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' menu option (explained here if needed).

Alternatively, you could do the following, if needed:

    1) Please download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop and run it.

    2) Select "Delete on Reboot".
    3) Then Click the "All Files" button.

    4) Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\City About Store File
    5) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

    6) Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "Yes" to reboot next.
