You must be particularly careful not to have duplicate in use real-time functionality process categories such as Firewall and Antivirus (e.g.: RPS Firewall and Zonealarm is an unnecessary and normally very counterproductive duplication of firewall protection). Uninstall any security tools that duplicates a particular security category of always on REAL-TIME protection.



The reference to 'Symantec Corporation' may be indicative of an incomplete uninstall of a prior security tool component or components:

tried to remove java the ones that you said to only removed 1, when Itry to remove the others I get the message "error applying transforms, verify that the specified transforms are valid"

See if the following link helps. Are there actually files in specific FOLDERS for each old version (C:\Program Files\Java)?:

You may still have duplicate antivirus tools running (RPS AntiVirus (provided by your ISP) and Authentium AntiVirus SDK - 2). Such tools often conflict with each other and cause system instabilities. Uninstall 'authentium' and let us know if you did.



Also, if you previously had installed separate security tools from Computer Associates (CA) - Pest Patrol, it may advisable to cleanup the following (will provide instructions, if needed):

O23 - Service: CA Pest Patrol Realtime Protection Service (ITMRTSVC) - CA, Inc. - C:\Program Files\CA\PPRT\bin\ITMRTSVC.exe

only place I can find Authentium is in program files when I try to delete it say "error deleting file or folder. cannot delete dvpapi. access is denied. same with pest patrol. Please help ThX alot
