The Cid malware left something behind:
    O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.1 bin.errorprotector.com ## added by CiD

    Get HostsXpert here:
    http://www.funkytoad.com/download/HostsXpert.zip
    • Unzip it to a convenient place and run the program.
    • If you see red text (‘Make Writeable?’) then press the ‘Make Writeable?’ BUTTON.
    • Click ’Restore MS Hosts File’ BUTTON.
    • You will be asked to confirm ’Press OK to Restore Microsoft's original Hosts File’. Click ’OK’ BUTTON.
    • Close the program.

Your latest scan was posted twice. Furthermore, if you download OTListit to your desktop and run it there, it will produce two (2) open files. The 1st first file hides the 2nd one by the name of 'Extras' (exit the first one). I need to see the contents of that particular 'Extras' file (error log contents).

Meanwhile, any additional troubleshooting is more likely going to be mostly hit and miss using trial and error. Doubling your RAM memory to 1GB MIGHT significantly HELP improve matters (see: diagnostic at Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com).

Also see, for example (Using Startup TAB only: Start (BUTTON)>Run>MSCONFIG):

msconfig.exe is the System Configuration Utility and you can use it for
troubleshooting startups. Which can also affect shutdown.

You can try disabling the first half of the startup entries, reboot and then
shutdown and see if you still have the problem.

After rebooting, if you do not have whatever problem, you have narrowed it
down to that half of the disabled items. Depending on how many startups you
have, you can re-enable some and reboot. Or re-enable one item at a time
and reboot. Keep doing one or the other until you have found the culprit.

After rebooting, if you still have whatever problem after disabling the
first half of the startup items, re-enable that half and disable the second
half and reboot. Depending on how many startups you have, you can re-enable
some and reboot. Or re-enable one item at a time and reboot. Keep doing
one or the other until you have found the culprit.

Hi Vop, I think it is something to do with my ISP, could this be possible? the reason I think this because when I ran Hostxpert and restarted the computer I lost my homepage and the computer shut down in seconds when I tried it, when I restored my homepage it took 5 minutes to shut down

I am not sure what you mean by 'homepage'. I presume you are referring to your ISP login page? Now you have something concrete to discuss with your ISP. Maybe they need to review your setup parameters and all will be good.
