Pop Up problem and Random noises

    Hi,

I keep getting advertisements from random websites in the form of pop-ups, and any program I am running will minimise for this pop-up. Also, my PC keeps making strange noises; it will repeat this noise about 5 times in 5 seconds, and won't do it again for about 10-20 mins.

CA antivirus and Windows Defender scans do not find anything, but Ad-Aware came up with a 'suspicious file', which is a program in the 'system32' directory, called '8J55S4in.exe'.

    Very annoying, please help

    Thanks

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, initially select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
    • It may also be advisable to run the longer ”Full Scan” in addition to the above scan especially if issues remain.
    • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
    • When disinfection is completed , a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart(See Extra Note).
    • A run log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs TAB in MBAM.
    • Copy&Paste the entire report(s) in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
    • Please post any current revised observations.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Additionally, you should probably also run the following diagnostic:

Click here to download HJTInstall.exe (Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2).
    • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
    • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
    • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
    • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
    • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
    • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch HijackThis.

    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button.
      • It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
      • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
      • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply (when next requested) .
    • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
    • DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

    Just quickly,

This 'Malwarebytes' program isn't going to kill anything important, harmless, etc is it? For example Windows Defender detects SpyBot (i think SpyBot - but it definitely detects some security program I have). I want to make sure before I get rid of these things.

    Thanks

MBAM is a very reliable tool, has an exceptional track record, and does not create any serious problems that I am aware of.
