my dvd burner wont burn. i keep getting an unspecified error. i can burn audio files. it all started when i went to burn a certain file. i guess it was corrupted because i tried it on another burner and same thing happened when i burned another file just beofre it. could i get a little help in resolving this problem please? i should have stated now i can't burn any dvd file. cdr is fine.

1. Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
2. Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
5. Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
7. Click on "Edit -> Select All" then click on "Edit -> Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
8. Come back here to this thread and paste the log in your next reply.
9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

well the reason i think it is a virus or along those lines is that my burning was fine until i tried to burn this file. burner stopped working. took file to another computer tried burning files on that computer which worked then tried burning the other file and now i cant burn anything with that. i tried uninstalling nero then installing it again and still have the same problem. ive ran spybot SD and ad-aware SE bnut that hasnt solved the problem either. and my virus scan is nod32.

That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Re-enable your anti-virus and re-connect back to the internet and post the combofix log.
