    Windows Update/Search problems

I cannot access the Windows Updates for my computer. I have Windows XP Home edition
and there appears to be some problem with a missing module (msxml3.dll) though the file is present in the Windows system 32 directory.

When I attempt to register the file I get this message:

(Load Library) failed - A dynamic link library initialization routine failed.

In addition to the problem with Windows update the Windows search function is also unable to run. These problems have been present for an extended period of time. Just haven't had the time to try and address them. Hoping to avoid having to wipe the hard
drive and start over if at all possible.

Here is the Hijack this log:

Download SDFIX and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
    • Choose your usual account.
    • In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
    • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
    • Type Y to begin the script.
    • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
    • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
    • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
    • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
    • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

Do you have automatic updates turned on? If so turn off automatic updates and try to get your updates that way.

    Update Java: Security Issue

    * Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
    * Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )

It should have next icon next to it:
    Select it and click Remove.
    * The current version can be downloaded from Sun here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Scroll down the page to 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u6 and press the 'Download' button. On the new web page, click the 'Accept License Agreement' button. Then select 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' in the Windows Platform area just below the Accept button.

Go here to learn how to show hidden files/folders:

    http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html#5

    Re-hide after we are done

    Go to next site:
    http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
    On top you'll find 'Browse'
Click the browse button and browse to next file:

    C:\Program Files\wwan61gx\wwan61gx.exe

    Click open.
Then click the 'Send' button next to it.
This will scan the file. Please be patient.
Once scanned, copy and paste the results as well in your next reply.

If that one is to busy here is another option:

    http://virusscan.jotti.org

    And

    http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html

    Do the same for this:

    ddrl400.exe
    crycm32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system\ehvikcfh.exe

Not sure of the full file path of first two

Go here BitDefender and run an online scan with BitDefender (you will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan). When the ActiveX Control has loaded, click on "Click here to scan" and grab a coffee.

When BitDefender completes the scan, select the "Detected Problems" tab. Click on "Click here to export scan". Save the file as an HTML to your Desktop. Then click on the saved file and allow it to open with your browser. Go to Edit - Select All then copy/paste that log back here. Post back and let us know what it found (post the log).

And post a new HJT log also..

When updating the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Database I get the following message:

Database is damaged. Please restart Kaspersky Online Scanner.

I removed the program as instructed through the control panel and started the
Procedure but received the same message the 2nd time.

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
    1. Run Spybot-S&D
    2. Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
    3. On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
    4. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

Run hijackthis and click on "scan system only" button and put checks next to these:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wwan61gx] C:\Program Files\wwan61gx\wwan61gx.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [v3tQ34g] ddrl400.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [e024RQMsU] crycm32.exe

    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Please close ALL browser windows (including this one).

Everything closed out but hijackthis and click on "fix checked"

Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Navigate to these files or folders using Windows Explorer (OR Start -> Search) and delete (if present):

    DELETE FILES:

    ddrl400.exe
    crycm32.exe

    DELETE FOLDERS

    C:\Program Files\wwan61gx

    Reboot your PC

    * Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and zLaunch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    * Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

    Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.
