I can't find any type of Norton product on this computer, so I can't get the product key in order to remove it through the site you provided.

You may need your Product Key when you reinstall your Norton product. To be safe, follow the steps for your product to be sure that you have your Product Key if it is needed.

That is actually specifically referring to 'reinstall' LOGISTICS. Did you even try to run an uninstall with the REMOVER?


Otherwise, we can try the more messy removal of left-over selected items from the HijackThis LOG.

Stop, Disable, and Remove a Service

• Go to Start » Run » type: Services.msc » OK.
• Scroll down and find this service: (each bracketed TEXT service name listed above)
• Double-click on it.
• Under the General tab, click the Stop button.
• Then change the Startup Type to Disabled.
• Click Apply and then OK.

Next:

• Run HijackThis.
• Select 'Config' BUTTON>Misc Tools
• Click on ’Delete an NT Service’.
• Enter (each service name TEXT LABEL without the brackets) into the input BOX (make sure there are NO spaces before or after the name).
• Click OK and select NO when asked to reboot.

REBOOT when all items have been entered.

POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:

Ok....I just did a hijackthis scan and save log file to attempt to fix those files you listed. For some reason they appear on the notepad that is saved, but NOT in the actual hijackthis program/scan results

To fix the items of interest ONLY run:

This is all very strange and unexpected behavior.


Try running 'HJT' in a different user profile, if available.
Or try running in SAFE MODE (F8 key on reboot).

As a last resort, try uninstalling the current version and creating a fresh install.
