What is going on now?

Do you use this > Norton Security Scan could be causeing a conflict with your eTrust anti-virus program, thus a slow down.

My computer is much quicker to react thank you.

I am a bit confused in terms of "firewall" and other anti virus software.
I have Norton, dowloaded Spyware doctor (which doesn't run all the time) and the Windows one and a CA anti virus.
I know it's a mess, but I don't know which ones to run to protect efficiently my PC.

You must only have one anti-virus program running at the same time, it actuallly lowers your security if you have more than one.

Windows firewall only protects from incoming threats it does not stop information going out from your PC. Such as if you have a keylogger or a trojan it can and will send information stored on your PC somewhere to be stolen like passwords or banking info or credit card info.

You need a firewall other then windows like "Comodo" that is free and protects both ways.

Flush your restore points in ME and XP, by turning System Restore off and then back on.
