Your most overriding initial problem may be the very inadvisable running of two (2) realtime antivirus tools at the same time. Additionally and in general, you don't want to be running resource intensive and competing real-time processes in similar categories (firewall, anti-trojan, etc.)

Please uninstall one of your antivirus tools (Avg or AVAST) and let us know whether this improves matters.

Vince I haven't been running both Antiviruses at the same time. I installed Avast on my system yesterday and ran it through the night last night, while offline, and before I started running AVAST I shut down all of the other programs that start up with boot up including shutting down AVG. I used to have both Antiviruses installed on my computer back sometime ago with only AVG running active but I finally uninstalled AVAST because it was so slow on my computer doing a full scan that I just quit using it at all. For example I started AVAST last night when I went to bed and it never finished scanning until this afternoon (a little over a million files according to AVAST).

I still have the problem of the Windows Installer popups popping up other than that I think my system is running pretty good. I will post below what I posted when I started my thread asking for help on the Windows XP Help forum where Jephree was helping me, the subject which was: "Problem: The feature you are trying to use is on a CD_ROM popup"

Everytime I boot up and when I start up any programs the below shown error messages come up. Sometimes only once and sometime three or four times before I can finally cancel it out. This has been going on a long time and I have no idea what it is coming from so I decided to ask if somebody could help me get rid of this problem.

I have in the past on several different occasions searched on the Internet and tried several different things suggested but nothing so far seems to stop these messages from popping up.

Any help stopping these messages from popping up would be greatly apprreciated.

I finallly at least found a way to shut down and or stop the Windows Installer popups this morning. I ran msiexec.exe /unregistered and just left it that way. I have to go do some things and then when l come back I will run msiexec.exe /register and see if or if not the popups popup again on the next boot up and start up of some programs... If they do I will just leave it unregistered until whenever something needs to use the installer. I wrote the instructions on a card and placed it at the bottom of my monitor. It seems so far that nobody has a cure for my problem and I am getting tired of the long boot up time and the long time to start some programs...

It was taking about 5 to 10 minutes every time I wanted to start a program that brought these popups up and I was getting mighty tired of that stuff. That's what made me so mad at MSOffice/Word in the first place as when I wanted to use Word I would get the popups and then it would take 5 to 10 minutes before Word would come up and now it was happening every time I wanted to start a program that would bring on the WInstaller popups.

I am back. I ran msiexec.exe /register and rebooted. Seems like no more real popups. I do get what I think is the same popup but it just flashes up and disappears so quickly one can't read anything. Plus my boot up and the starting of programs does it in the normal amount of time instead of taking a long time when the popup would come up...

So I think we can close this thread unless you seen something in my HiJackThis log that you think needs corrected.

Your problem is not unique to WORD. And, it often has nothing specific to do with the suspected application.
