Slow running computer
I've got a fairly new computer with Vista home basic. I wanted to stick with XP but was told that would cost me extra. It has always been slow, stops responding and has had other problems. Now the CD/DVD drive won't read anything. I've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers,; uninstalled/reinstalled hardware in device manager; Reseated power and data cables. None of it helped. I'm convinced that the drive has gone bad so I've followed all of HP's steps to prove to them that it is bad. There final step was to run hardware diagnostics. I waited for around 45 minutes and it never seemed to detect the drive. I got tired of waiting. So I thought I would post a Hijack this log to see if I've got any problems.

Thank you very much, it must be a Vista problem.
