i have been having problems following the guide given http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=53963

where the advice is "Please go to hijackthis.exe and right click on it and then click on rename and rename it to foolyou.exe, press enter
and post a new log from the newly renamed hijackthis.exe. Sometimes malware hides from hijackthis.exe" i assume i should go to the actual program and not just rename the shortcut on the desktop?

the pc won't let me access 'my computer' or search to find the program.

Just download hijackthis again to your desktop,then right click in an open area(no icons) on your desktop and select "new" then select "folder".

Then type in HJT and press enter then drag and drop hijackthis.exe into this folder named HJT.

To rename, just opoen the folder "HJT" and right click on hijackthis.exe and select rename and rename it.

Post the log. Thanks.

It won't actually get to connecting the internet. it closes down and restarts before it connects.
