    Re: Slow Internet, Computer, and FTP no longer working

    Thanks, I renamed the file and deleted it and it is gone now. It was just an empty folder.

    I ran another scan with the tool you sent me and it was showing 3 Trojans again. I followed the same steps to remove them and am just running one more scan to double check everything is clean. Thanks for your help.

    A0010822.dll;C:\System Volume Information\_restore{3A579F61-82CF-4117-919A-DB7B394CD5BC}\RP28;Probably STPAGE.Trojan;Incurable.Moved.;

    Those in system restore should go away when we manually create a new restore point. Hopefully, as a last step.

    Let me know how the scan comes out.

    The second scan found an additional Trojan, details below:

    A0011969.exe;C:\System Volume Information\_restore{3A579F61-82CF-4117-919A-DB7B394CD5BC}\RP31;Trojan.DownLoader.origin;Incura ble.Moved.;

    Also, the folder I mentioned before that i renamed and deleted is coming back again and appears on the desktop with the old name each time I delete it and then restart.

    This time...

    Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

    Delete the folder again and immediately empty recycle bin and see if that works.

    Also run a scan with AVG 7.5 anti-spyware, quarantine everything it finds if anything, full system scan from safe mode and post the results of that and a new hjackthis log please.

    Sorry for the delay in completing the aforementioned, my internet connection was down for a few days. After your last message I ran the CureIt software and it found a few trojans again, report below. I restarted in safe mode and tries to run AVG but the computer shut down after the scan was about 22% complete. I downloaded Kaspersky and tried with that and it did the same both times I ran it in safe mode after about 20% completion. I therefore have not been able to complete a full scan in safe mode.

    I re-ran AVG in regular mode and it did not find anything. I also re-ran cureit and it did not find anything either. My HijackThis log and the last results of CureIt when it found problems are below:

    CureIt:

    all that stuff found is under system restore and can be removed as a last step.

    How is your PC feeling now?

    PC feels ok now. While I was running CureIt again yesterday, AVG notified me of a virus, but hopefully that was cleaned. Fingers crossed the computer is clear of everything now. The only annoying thing is the folder that keeps appearing on the desktop... hopefully that is just a windows bug.

    Now everything seems to be ok, should a set a new restore point?

    Run hijackthis and click on "scan system only" button and put checks next to these:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

    Everything closed out but hijackthis and click on "fix checked"

    Reboot your PC

    If that folder is still there try this:

    Name the folder something like "Trouble"

    Then right click it and send it to "My Documents" and try deleteing from there.

    I would hold off on createing a new restorepoint until your for sure everything is ok.

    Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
    I tried both of those but the folder came back each time after restart. It is strange as it does not appear instantly on restart... it appears between 5 and 15min after. When I tried renaming it and sending it to My Documents, it instantly created a new version each time on the desktop. I ran another scan with AVG and it did not find any problems on the computer so maybe it is just a windows problem.
