    My HijackThis log- HELP!!

I am having trouble with mt computer. I have used SpyBot and Adaware before I ran HijackThis and made the log. I can't get rid of a trojan in my IE browser and I am afraid it will steal my personal info. Any help I can get with my problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you in advance

    • Install AVG Anti-Spyware by double clicking the installer.
    • Follow the prompts. Make sure that Launch AVG Anti-Spyware is checked.
    • On the main screen under Your Computer's security.

      • Wait until you see the Update successful message.
      • Click on Scanner on the toolbar at top of this screen.
      • Click on the Settings tab.
        • Under How to act?
          • Click on Recommended Action and choose Quarantine from the popup menu.
        • Under How to scan?

I ran AVG Spyware and saved the log. I then ran HiJackThis and saved the log. I am attaching AVG log to this post. I then will post the HiJackThis log in a new thread, as I can't attach it to this post. Once again, Thank-you for the help. I was really getting frustrated by this problem.

Not much of significance showed up on those scans.

    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6
Select the above item in 'Add/Remove Programs' (Control Panel) and uninstall that item.

I need to see a HijackThis LOG produced as follows:
    • Run HijackThis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button.
      • It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
      • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
      • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
    • DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

I don't know if this will help, the only time I saw evidence of a trojan on my computer was with a spyware program called Spyware Doctor. It registered this after a scan; Trojan.Downloader.Hidden Registry Key-HKEY_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\curr entver...\disablerun . I hope this helps. I didn't do anything about it, I didn't know if it was a false positive or not.

A lot of arbitrary trojan names can mean very little - it is the filename that often has more information available for it. Also, keep in mind that many procedures that you may find in these forums are often now not YET applicable for VISTA based machines. Many such tools do not work or could create problems unless you are sure of what you are doing and of the tool's compatibility.

I am seeing only one minor issue:

You are not running HijackThis (HJT) from a desired location. You really need to setup a dedicated folder for HJT items to avoid horrible clutter and/or potential lost backup issues.

It's best that the HijackThis tool NOT be located in its current location (particularly on your Desktop or in a TEMP folder). This way you can more easily undo any changes if something goes wrong.
    • Create a new folder in your C: Drive.
    • Name the FOLDER HijackThis (or HJT) such as C:\Program Files\HijackThis or C:\HJT and
    • Move the HijackThis.exe file into the newly created FOLDER.
    • Run HJT from there (and revise your shortcut accordingly).

SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

Make sure that all browser windows and internet links are closed, even this one!
    CLICK ’FIX CHECKED’ with HijackThis.

My computer is running a lot better now. I really appreciate the help. I don't know how I could have ffixed the problem by myself. THANK-YOU.
