Bad stuff on that computer.
Thanks,
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.- Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
- Click the Scan for Vundo button.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
- You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
- Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
- When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
- Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.
Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
* Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
* This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
* Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
* Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
* Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
* Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
* When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found:
* If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
* After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
* Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
* Close Dr.Web Cureit.
* Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
* After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply. You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report.
New hijackthis log like this:
Please go to hijackthis.exe and right click on it and then click on rename and rename it to foolyou.exe, press enter
and post a new log from the newly renamed hijackthis.exe. Sometimes malware hides from hijackthis.exe.

Hey Neal, thanks for the quick reply.

After this what can I do to prevent it from happening again? Or will we get to that?
-
yeah we will get to prevention but I still need you to rename hijackthis like I suggested as this particular infection can hide files from hijackthis.exe
-
I'm assuming that you were looking at the entry below;
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\foolyou.exe
to determine if I renamed it right? Hopefully it is correct now

Yes that is what I was needing, there are a couple of files in your log that even Google doesn't know what they are, so....
Go here to learn how to show hidden files/folders:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html#5
Re-hide after we are done
Go to next site:
http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html
On top you'll find 'Browse'
Click the browse button and browse to next file:
C:\DOCUME~1\YPSILA~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\redocreboot.exe
Click open.
Then click the 'Send' button next to it.
This will scan the file. Please be patient.
Once scanned, copy and paste the results as well in your next reply.
If that one is to busy here is another option:
http://virusscan.jotti.org
And
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html
Do the same for this one please:
c:\winnt\system32\iiihedd.dll
Post the results for those and a new hijackthis log please.

Neal,
sory it took so long to get back with you. When I searched for the other files that you told me to do, I did not find the files. I ran a search and the search did not come up with anything. Any suggestions? I do know that the "redocboot.exe" is a program that I use for work, so I know that one is safe.

OK good enough.
Run hjackthis and click on "scan system only" button and put checks next to these:

That one file is associated with yahoo and spybot which is what makes it strange to me.
Do a search on your computer for that file please and make sure you can see hidden files and folders as instructed earlier
Let me know if you find it, just because hijackthis says it is a missing file doesn't always mean that it is missing.
If you do find it please have it scanned like you were going to do earlier. Thanks.

I did not find that file but I have discovered something new.....
I cannot log in to DAL's forum from the computer that I am having trouble with. I have to go to a different computer for that. But now that computer just redirects me to the log in page again and won't let me log in. Any idea why?
New HiJack Log, wasn't sure if you needed it,

This is getting more bizarre by the minute. I have no idea why you can't get to DAL.
When you did Dr. Webcureit scan you did scan your C drive didn't you? The first short scan is a memory scan.
You can burn these setup files to disc on uninfected computer and bring to very sick computer:
1. Download this file - COMBOFIX
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
Post a new hijackthis log also please.
