    Pop up error message

I got a message a few days ago that some type of virus had attached itself to an iexplore.exe file (I believe that was the file). Now I continually get a box that pops up that says the following: iexplore.exe - Application error. The instruction at "0x0141519c" referenced memory at "0x0141519c". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Regardless of what I do, my computer either locks up or takes several minutes to return to whatever screen I was on. Serious or something that can be fixed without a great deal of difficulty? Seems this happened to me a few years ago but I only got the error message when booting up.

Do you have all your critical updates current? See:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262490

Otherwise, there could be many possibilities for your current issues. There is nothing special about the memory location cited - no search results available:

iexplore.exe with virus (which version of IE?) - the specific term used was a virus, right - that is a critical distinction?:

Try running the following in-memory scan for viruses (takes less than one minute) to see if we can get the name of any currently running invasive file:

Also, if you can run the following procedures that might prove very helpful:
